About Permagard Marine ServicesPermagard is a reactive polymer treatment that can be applied to both new and used boats, replacing traditional Wax, Teflon or Silicon based products. Permagard has been developed lo protect the exterior surfaces against oxidisation, discolouring, damage from bird fowling and other pollutants while providing a perfect finish that is easy to maintain. We eliminate swirl marks completely, remove a very high percentage of micro scratches and can restore very oxidized surfaces. Maintenance With Permagard once the vessel has been treated all you need to do is wash it as and when desired with a either a PH friendly gel coal cleaner or clean water to maintain the deep gloss finish. There is no need to cut, polish or wax it ever again. We recommend that you wash the vessel using a sponge or soft brush in very good condition and then dry the vessel using a squeegee blade and micro fibre drying cloth for the best results. We recommend an annual service treatment, which is 50% of the rateable price. By completing this annual service any light marks or scratches that have developed from washing or drying are removed and it also extends our guarantee against oxidisation and loss of shine for an additional 12 months. Visit our website for further details and to view our photo galleries. About The TreatmentsTreatments can be completed by one of our mobile teams in your marina either when the boat is in the water (superstructure only) or on the hard standing during an annual re-fit. Smaller craft on trailer's can be treated at your parking facility. The Hull: The treatment is from the gunnels to the water line all surfaces are de-oxidised and repaired as necessary prior to the appli¬cation of the reactive polymer. As a guide line a 25' Hull will take a two man team one and a half days to complete. The Superstructure: The treatment is completed on ail smooth areas and includes all cockpit or fly bridge areas. All cockpit hatches shuts arc completed along with any dram areas. When completing a superstructure treatment we also clean all anti-slip surfaces, dashboards and instruments. Plexiglas: We can treat Plexiglas with the reactive polymer in the same way as the hull and the superstructure, as the polymer actually repairs the scratches in the surface and is completely clear it improves visibility and increases resistance to future scratching. Glass treatment: All exterior glass is cleaned using a marine grade burnishing gel and then the cross-linked polymer water repellent is added by hand. Once treated water will pearl on the glass. Teak treatment: The teak protector is specially formulated for teak decks, a copolymer treatment that rejuvenates the original look, feel and texture of the wood. Before the application of teak protector, the surfaces have to be restored back to new, clear of oils and dust before the application process can be made. Canvass treatment: The canvass or fabric protector is specially formulated copolymer treatment canvass or fabric is thoroughly cleaned and then treated with protector. This will not allow dirt and general grime to ingrain into the surface and makes future clean¬ing much easier extending the life of the material. |
